The first of a quick catch up with you all. In all honesty, it’s a chance for me to show off my crochet projects.
Some of the projects are from a nice book called ‘Mindful Crochet’ by Emma Hunt.
I rather liked the bright colours she used for the projects and thought I might use the wool (sometimes cotton) that she recommended to try and copy the effect. Occasionally, I branched out and used other wool-if you are like me, you may have quite a stash at home, waiting for something to use it on.
It was good to learn a couple of new stitches when doing her projects, like Popcorn stitch. I’m not sure if you can see the stitch on the tealight holder I made out of a glass jar… It’s a green and white bobble stitch which is made by crocheting 3 or more treble stitches into one foundation chain and then securing the bobble at the top with a slip stitch. (see the picture).
Other than the popcorn stitch, the pattern uses a variety of single, half and double crochet stitches. I think it’s quite effective when finished. I have been lighting the candle each night to think of friends and family far away and to remind myself to be grateful that I am safe and well at home with my cat Tarquin.
