Welcome to our first ever issue of the daily news according to us here at the Daily Ceilidh.
The idea behind this website was to help bring people together across our local communities, as well as to share information and resources. I hope that you can find your way around this website, and that it is of some use to you. In the menus at the top of the page, you’ll find links to important information, especially in regard our current health crisis. However, here on the front page we want to focus more on day to day life, with a more upbeat feel. We’d also love to share some photos of our lives during this period. So, if you have a photo that you’d like to be featured please do send it to us.
Spring / Winter / Any idea?
Is it just me or is everyone else as confused by which season we’re in at the moment? The other day I was getting all excited thinking I might finally be able to cut down on my current layering of clothes (I’m starting to resemble the Michelin Man), then all of a sudden Mother Nature decided differently. The wind has had so much bite of late I’m considering re-purposing my ski clothing into gardening gear.
Thankfully, despite the occasional flurries of snow, there are definite signs of Spring. My daffodils are holding up, and their bright yellow cheeriness is just enough to brighten my cold-induced frown. The skylarks are also busy rising and falling on the croft, singing their joyous song as loudly and proudly as is possible for such a delicate thing. Every time I hear them I can’t help but smile and be buoyed by their sheer enthusiasm for life. I might then get hit in the face by some hail, but at least I had a momentary glimpse of my most favourite season – Spring.
